MPF Announcement 2019-44

The Redesigned Uniform Residential Loan Application (URLA) Mandate Rescheduled

Effective Date: Immediately

On August 8, 2019, the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, announced a delay to the February 1, 2020 implementation date for the redesigned Uniform Residential Loan Application (URLA).

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac also announced additional changes to the redesigned URLA,  as a result, the deadlines for implementation of the URLA and AUS datasets have been extended in order to allow time for industry participants to make the necessary changes. To gain a full understanding of these changes PFIs should review the attached announcement.

A new implementation date has not been announced. We will continue to monitor the implementation of the URLA and will announce any updates as soon as information becomes available.

For additional information, underwriting system requirements, and training regarding the redesigned URLA, PFIs can refer to Fannie Mae’s URLA webpage.
