This September, the Mortgage Partnership Finance® (MPF®) Program is proud to recognize the mortgage professionals across the Federal Home Loan Bank System who work every day to support financial institutions, homebuyers and communities.
Mortgage Professionals Month gives us an opportunity to celebrate the people behind that work and highlight their perspectives on the industry, their support for FHLBank members and communities, and what they wish more people understood about a career in mortgage finance.

What do you enjoy most about working in the mortgage industry and supporting the MPF Program?
“It’s incredibly rewarding to help people achieve homeownership, and the MPF Program helps our community banks provide that service with ease of use and a personal touch.”
How does your role help support FHLBank members and the communities they serve?
“We pride ourselves on being easily accessible. With a simple phone call or email, our members know we will answer them without delay. The better we educate our members on our Program, the more comfortable and confident they feel to serve their community’s housing needs.”
What’s one thing you wish more people knew about working in the mortgage industry?
“Benjamin Franklin said, ‘…in this world, nothing can be said to be certain except death and taxes.’ I disagree; he should’ve added the constant evolution of the mortgage industry! It is always changing and you are always learning.”

What do you enjoy most about working in the mortgage industry and supporting the MPF Program?
“I have worked in all facets of the mortgage business, from loan origination and closing, to servicing loans through payoff. After gaining that experience in the retail environment, I now have the privilege of supporting many of those functions in my role at FHLBank Boston from a business-to-business perspective. All of this is about helping the consumer achieve the dream of homeownership and build generational wealth.”
How does your role help support FHLBank members and the communities they serve?
“FHLBank Boston offers products to support access to housing and particularly housing that is affordable. I’m proud to be part of a talented team that also provides strategic insights for members to help them make decisions that best suit their financial institution. Additionally, we offer webinars and other valuable resources to our members so they can better serve their communities.”
What’s one thing you wish more people knew about working in the mortgage industry?
“The mortgage industry offers a wide range of roles and opportunities. Whether you are interested in compliance, helping consumers select the right mortgage product, training, team management, or learning about secondary markets or technology systems, there is a place for you in this dynamic, ever-changing field.”
Supporting Mortgage Professionals Through the MPF Program
Behind these professionals is a shared goal: helping financial institutions serve homebuyers and their communities.
The MPF® Program supports participating financial institutions with more than access to the secondary mortgage market and an additional source of liquidity. Through MPF® University and Mortgage Bankers Association designation opportunities available to members, mortgage professionals can continue their education, strengthen their industry knowledge and stay current in a constantly evolving mortgage finance landscape.
